Q: How do I pay for SmartShop webshop?
A: For your initial design and setup you need to pay 50% upfront, and 50% when the webshop is done. We only accept bank wire transfers, for the moment. For your monthly hosting fees you will be required a credit card that will be setup to auto bill by the hosting provider.
Q: Are there any hidden fees?
A: No. We are very upfront about the costs for your SmartShop online store. Our base fees of €1.500 (one time design and setup fee) and € 2.6 per month for hosting (if you chose our hosting solution) are all that you pay for the base package. There are no additional monthly or yearly fees to use the software.
If you want additional features, those costs are clearly detailed in our proposal.
Q: How long does it take to get my webshop live?
A: The average Smart Shop webshop development process takes 1-2 weeks. The time frame will go to 2-4 weeks or more,for the advanced packages, depending on client requirements.
Q: What if I forget my password?
A: If you forget your password, please send us a written request to reset your password via email to "sales@smartshop.nl". You must include your Account ID, Username, and Website URL in your request. We will contact you to confirm your request and we will reset your password for you.
Q: How can I set up my current domain to work with Smart Shop?
A: To use your existing domain with your Smart Shop webshop, you simply need to log into your domain registrar (i.e. godaddy.com) and update the Domain Name Server (DNS). Or we can do the setup for you, for free.
Q: How do I register a new domain?
A: We can register a domain for you . Or you can register a domain name from any Internet provider and we will help you "point" that to your webshop hosting.
Q: Do you offer ASP, .NET, Perl or ColdFusion versions of this product ?
A: In the past, we offered different language versions of some of our software, but we have now discontinued our PERL, Cold Fusion, ASP and .NET products due to low demand and high production costs. We are now concentrating on making our existing PHP based products even better.

Q: How do I edit my webshop?
A: Our SmartShop is built on top of the industry Content Management Systems. You can access SmartShop and modify your webshop by logging into SmartShop Admin.
Q: What type of content can I add to my webshop (video, widgets, photos, forms etc.)?
A: We can add 3rd party content features to your SmartShop webshop. This allows you to easily expand the functionality of SmartShop by including data collection forms, widgets, YouTube videos, and more!
Q: Does my website support foreign languages?
A: The SmartShop application is displayed in English but you can use any language for the content of your pages.
Q: Can I have multiple logins for the Site Editor?
A: You can use several users accounts to login to the SmartShop. we will create the user, and assign specific rights for each of them.
Email Manager:
Q: How do I set up new email accounts?
A: You can add, delete, and modify email addresses by logging into the hosting admin panel. Here you will gain access to your Email Manager.
Q: How many email accounts does my plan include?
A: Your SmartShop account includes unlimited email addresses. We'll set up the first 5 email addresses for you during the setup process.
Shop Statistics & SEO:
Q: What statistics will I have access to?
A: Your site will come complete with Google Analytics installed. This information will be invaluable as you plan your marketing strategy. You will have access to visitor information, traffic sources, page popularity and more!
If you chose an advanced plan, you will get more function and in-site statistics, for every page, and every customer of your shop. This will be added on the basic Google Analytics service, already included.
Q: How do I access my site statistics?
A: You can access Google Analytics on your site by logging into your google account, or in-site statistics, by clicking the "statistics" menu.
Q: Can I update my site keywords (meta information)?
A: Through the SmartShop, you will be able to update your meta data. This includes site title, description, and keywords. The meta data can be unique on every page of your site.
Q: Does my plan include SEO management?
A: Your plan does not include SEO management. However, if you retain another company to help you with search engine placement, they will be able to modify page content and meta data on all pages of your site to help your search engine placement. For the advanced plans, we provide SEO management for the first 3 months, and several SEO option in admin panel.
Q: Can I add Google Adsense (and other ads) to my SmartShop online shop?
A: Yes. SmartShop supports any and all third party advertising and analytics packages on the market.
Hosting:
Q: Is my website backed up?
A: Your SmartShop site is hosted on a secure server that is set up with automatic nightly and weekly back-ups.
Q: Where is my website hosted?
A: Your SmartShop website is hosted through our affiliated partners, if you chose to host with us. The database facilities include: uninterruptedly power, environmental management, and fire suppression systems. Additionally, your server is under 24/7 account monitoring and management with a 99.9% uptime guarantee. The servers are based in the client country. For the webshops with international customers we can advice on a Content Delivery Network (CDN) solution.
Q: Can we put SmartShop on our own server?
A: Yes
Q: What server requirements do I need to run Smart Shop?
A: SmartShop requires the following:
